Australian Seniors offers a range of great value pet insurance solutions for over 50s to help you give your dog or cat the care they need.
There are three cover options to choose from (Top, Essential, and Basic) to help you get the right policy for your budget and pet. Australian Seniors also offers a 10% discount for the over 50s.
You’ll also enjoy the convenience of having cover for home visits included at no extra cost and, if you're your pet’s sole carer, emergency boarding for your pet if you’re hospitalised or need accommodation due to family violence for one or more consecutive days.
Top Accident & Illness Cover
- Claim up to $12,000 a year in eligible veterinary costs while using any registered vet in Australia1
- Claim up to 80% of the cost of treating specified accidental injuries caused by accidents, including burns, snake bites, allergic reactions to insect bites (not including ticks and fleas) and car accidents, as well as certain illnesses1
- Enjoy extra benefits including overseas (New Zealand and Norfolk Island only) cover while your pet is travelling with you, tick paralysis treatment, emergency boarding, and essential euthanasia at no extra cost
- There’s no waiting period for specified accidental injuries and you can enjoy full cover for certain illness after just 30 days1
- For an additional premium, you can also treat your pet to an optional benefit for a contribution towards everyday routine care, including teeth cleaning, vaccinations, and training up to $80
- Take advantage of lifetime cover for your pet when you insure them between the age of 8 weeks and younger than 9 years old, as long as we continue to offer the product, there are no breaks in cover, and subject to the terms and conditions of the policy
Essential Accident & Illness Cover
- Claim up to $12,000 a year in eligible veterinary costs while using any registered vet in Australia1
- Claim up to 75% of the cost of treating specified accidental injuries caused by accidents, including burns, snake bites, allergic reactions to insect bites (not including ticks and fleas) car accidents, as well as certain illnesses1

- Claim up to $12,000 a year (up to $2,000 per condition) in eligible veterinary costs while using any registered vet in Australia1
- Claim up to 60% (up to the $2,000 annual condition limit) of the cost of treating specified accidental injuries caused by accidents, including burns, snake bites, allergic reactions to insect bites (not including ticks and fleas) and car accidents, as well as certain illnesses and a range of diseases1
- Enjoy extra benefits including overseas (New Zealand and Norfolk Island only) cover for your pet while travelling, tick paralysis treatment, emergency boarding, and essential euthanasia at no extra cost
- There’s no waiting period for specified accidental injuries and you can enjoy full cover for certain illness after just 30 days1
- Take advantage of lifetime cover for your pet when you insure them between the age of 8 weeks and younger than 16 years old, as long as we continue to offer the product, provided there are no breaks in cover and subject to the terms and conditions of the policy
